YORK TO EDINBURGH STEAM TRAIN TOUR

One of the most popular onward destinations from York, Edinburgh is a fantastic city to visit as part of your UK tour. The train journey from York to Edinburgh can take as little as two hours and 30 minutes, but can still take up an entire day of your holiday: breakfast at the hotel, pack your bags, check out at 10:30. Taxi to the station, catch the train at 11:30. Train journey of 2 hours and 30 minutes. Taxi to your hotel. Check-in at the hotel. Before you know it, it’s already 3:45 pm and all you’ve done is change cities.

On the way to Edinburgh – The Castles & Coastline of Northumberland

Hadrian’s Wall – the Northern Frontier

This fantastic transfer tour to Hadrian’s Wall takes you to the ancient borderline between the Roman Empire and the wild lands to the north. The historic northern frontier runs across the country from east to west, and you have chance to see this famous wall and visit the remains of forts and milecastles on its route.

Through the Moors and along the Coast

Hadrian’s Wall – The Northern Frontier

From your hotel in York you travel north to Newcastle before following the route of the Hadrian’s Wall from east to west. LONDON TO YORK / YORK TO LONDON

The quickest and easiest way to get out of London is by train, but you can break your journey to Yorkshire with a trip to one of the UK’s most recognisable country houses.

 

A Trip to Chatsworth

Take the opportunity to discover Chatsworth House as you travel between London and York. On this popular transfer tour, you begin your journey from London by train, travelling to Chesterfield. Here, you meet your driver for the short journey to Chatsworth House.
